Magic Grab Hire is run by husband and wife team - Ian and Alice.  It is a true family run business and the children, Josh Emily and James are often on hand to help out...they are quite the professional lorry painters :)

Ian followed in his father Ernie's footsteps and passed his lorry licence as soon as he became old enough to! For a while he took over from Ernie as a scrap metal dealer before moving into the wonderful world of grab hire. He now holds his Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence* allowing him to take full control of the ever expanding fleet at Magic. He is also a fully trained ALLMI Operator so you are in safe hands when he has control of the grab.

Alice also holds her Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence* allowing her to assist in the daily running of the business and is on her way to becoming a fully qualified Accountant so is in full charge in the office. 

We have a small team of drivers who work alongside us, they too hold ALLMI (Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers) Operator Certificates so whoever turns up on the day you can be assured you will receive a Magic service - hopefully with a smile!

We have recently added lorry number 3 to the fleet and we strive to maintain them to the highest of standards with Periodic Safety Inspections carried out at a minimum of every 6 weeks in accordance with our Standard National Operators Licence (blue disc), extensive daily checks undertaken by the drivers and LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) Thorough Examinations completed by Clive our 'LOLER Competent Person'

...And if all else fails we are fully insured with £10 million of public liability insurance but let us hope we never have to use that.

*As qualified Transport Managers we are each able to work for a maximum of 4 operators and a total fleet size of 50. Please do get in touch if you or anyone you know needs an ETM.
